Welcome

This is the course blog for Broad Based Technology at Blackville School (NB, Canada). You will find links to this units above this post and also to the right. See the image below that highlights the course blog navigation. Here are descriptions for each unit:

1. The Digital Citizenship (Core Technology Unit) is mandatory. It is strongly suggested this is the first unit you complete.
2. The Automative Technology Unit explores a bit of the history of automobiles and then looks at emerging technologies, careers and automobile design. The final assignment allows you to select any topic related to automotive technology. If it has an engine and moves, you can explore the topic. Previous topics explored by students for the final assignment have ranged from ATVs to airplanes!
3. The Business and Enterprise Unit (Event Planning) is mainly completed using Google Drive. While this is a unit that explores business skills, it is centred around planning a music concert, so if you like music, concerts and bands, you will probably enjoy this unit.    
4. Coding (Computer Science Fundamentals Unit): It is strongly suggested you make this your final unit. Your evaluation on this unit is based on progress and how well you complete the activities, so if you are pressed for time at the end of the year, it is the best unit to select.
5. Communication and Multimedia Unit (Photography): This unit involves photography and photo editing. If you are doing this course in the fall, it would be best to do this unit early when the weather is still nice for any outdoor photography. If you are starting this course in the second semester, then consider waiting to do this unit near the end of the semester.

On the right side of the blog, you will see the countdown clock for the current unit the class is working on. All your work for this unit should be shared through Google Drive to allancarterspace@gmail.com.

You will also need to create an account in EdPuzzle (you will be prompted to do so when you start the first unit on Digital Citizenship).
